ਬੈਰਾੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਿੰਦ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਗੁਨੁ ਨ ਗਵਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਵੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਬੋਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਬਿਸਥਾਰਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਧਾਤੂ ਪੰਚ ਆਪਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਝਗਰੁ ਚੁਕਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੩॥

ਬੈਰਾੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਭਗਤ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਭੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਭਗਤ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਿਆਗਦਾ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਗਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਗਤ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਤੋਂ ਪੰਜ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਗਤ-ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ- ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚੋਤਾਣ ਮੁਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।੩।

English Translation:

BAIRAAREE, FOURTH MEHL:

The Lord’s humble servant sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord’s Name. Even if someone slanders the Lord’s humble servant, he does not give up his own goodness. || 1 || Pause || Whatever the Lord and Master does, He does by Himself; the Lord Himself does the deeds. The Lord and Master Himself imparts understanding; the Lord Himself inspires us to speak. || 1 || The Lord Himself directs the evolution of the world of the five elements; He Himself infuses the five senses into it. O servant Nanak, the Lord Himself unites us with the True Guru; He Himself resolves the conflicts. || 2 || 3 ||

ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ਜਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਲਿਖਿਆਸੁ ॥ ਮੋਹ ਠਗਉਲੀ ਪਾਈਅਨੁ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥ ਮਤੁ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਜੀਵਦਾ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਮੁਇਆਸੁ ॥ ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਸੇ ਬਹਣਿ ਨ ਮਿਲਨੀ ਪਾਸਿ ॥ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਬਹੁ ਅਤਿ ਘਣਾ ਪੁਤੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਨ ਸਾਥਿ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਸਿ ॥ ਲੋਕਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਮੁਹੁ ਕਾਲਾ ਹੋਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਉਭੇ ਸਾਸ ॥ ਮਨਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਕੋ ਨ ਵਿਸਹੀ ਚੁਕਿ ਗਇਆ ਵੇਸਾਸੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਅਗਲਾ ਜਿਨਾ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥੧॥ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਸੇ ਸੈਣ ਸੇ ਸਜਣਾ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਲਗੇ ਸਜਣ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਵੇਕਾਰ ॥ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਆਪ ਸੁਆਰਥੀ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਆਪਿ ਖੇਲੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਆਪਿ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਧਾਇਆ ॥ ਵਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗੀਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇਆ ॥ ਜਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ॥ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਘੁਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ:

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥

ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ (ਸੰਸਕਾਰ-ਰੂਪ ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖਿਆ (ਭਾਵ, ਉੱਕਰਿਆ) ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਜ਼ਰੂਰ) ਕਮਾਉਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ; (ਉਸ ਲੇਖ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ) ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਠਗਬੂਟੀ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹਰੀ ਵਿੱਸਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ । (ਉਸ) ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਨਾ ਸਮਝੋ (ਜੋ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਇਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ; ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਹਿਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ । ਉਹ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਏ ਪਏ ਸਨ, ਉਹ) ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਏਗਾ; ਸੰੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ (ਭਾਵ, ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ) ਤੇ ਹਾਹੁਕੇ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ; ਮਨਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਸਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧। ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਪਾ ਨਿਵਾਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਭਾਵਿਕ ਹੀ) ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਭਲੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ ਤੇ (ਸਾਡੇ) ਸਾਥੀ ਹਨ; ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ । ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖੀਦਾ ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ । ਮਨਮੁਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਤਲਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ (ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਵਾਰ ਸਕਦੇ; (ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਕੀਹ ਦੋਸ਼?) (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਕਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਸੰਸਕਾਰ-ਰੂਪ ਲੇਖ) ਕਮਾਉਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਮਿਟਾਉਣ-ਜੋਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ।੨। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਖੇਡ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ; ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਵਧਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ । (ਇਸ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਜੇ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਲੱਗਿਆਂ) (ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ) ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਜੰਮਣਾ ਮਰਨਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਇਹ) ਸਮਝ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ । (ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਵਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।੩।

English Translation:

SHALOK, THIRD MEHL:

He acts according to pre-ordained destiny, written by the Creator Himself. Emotional attachment has drugged him, and he has forgotten the Lord, the treasure of virtue. Don’t think that he is alive in the world — he is dead, through the love of duality. Those who do not meditate on the Lord, as Gurmukh, are not permitted to sit near the Lord. They suffer the most horrible pain and suffering, and neither their sons nor their wives go along with them. Their faces are blackened among men, and they sigh in deep regret. No one places any reliance in the self-willed manmukhs; trust in them is lost. O Nanak, the Gurmukhs live in absolute peace; the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides within them. || 1 || THIRD MEHL: They alone are relatives, and they alone are friends, who, as Gurmukh, join together in love. Night and day, they act according to the True Guru’s Will; they remain absorbed in the True Name. Those who are attached to the love of duality are not called friends; they practice egotism and corruption. The self-willed manmukhs are selfish; they cannot resolve anyone’s affairs. O Nanak, they act according to their pre-ordained destiny; no one can erase it. || 2 || PAUREE: You Yourself created the world, and You Yourself arranged the play of it. You Yourself created the three qualities, and fostered emotional attachment to Maya. He is called to account for his deeds done in egotism; he continues coming and going in reincarnation. The Guru instructs those whom the Lord Himself blesses with Grace. I am a sacrifice to my Guru; forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to Him. || 3 ||

(ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਅਕਲਿ ਹੋਛੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਦਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ; ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧੋਖਾ (ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ) ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਧੋਖਾ ਹੀ ਧੋਖਾ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ । (ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੰਦੇ ਆਪ) ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਦੁਖੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਭਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ) ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਗ਼ਰਜ਼ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਹਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਿਕਦਾ; ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਖੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੋਭ-ਰੂਪ ਵੱਡਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦਾ; ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਦੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਸਦਾ ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਨ, ਤਾਂ ਸੱਚਾ ਹਰੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲਏ ।੨।ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਹਨ, ਭਗਤ ਹਨ ਉਹੀ ਕਬੂਲ ਹਨ ।ਉਹੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ-ਰੂਪ ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਹਰੀ (ਦੇ ਭਜਨ-ਰੂਪ) ਤੀਰਥ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੨੬।

English Translation:

SHALOK, FOURTH MEHL:

He has spiritual ignorance within, and his intellect is dull and dim; he does not place his faith in the True Guru. He has deceit within himself, and so he sees deception in all others; through his deceptions, he is totally ruined. The True Guru’s Will does not enter into his consciousness, and so he wanders around, pursuing his own interests. If He grants His Grace, then Nanak is absorbed into the Word of the Shabad. || 1 || FOURTH MEHL: The self-willed manmukhs are engrossed in emotional attachment to Maya; in the love of duality, their minds are unsteady. Night and day, they are burning; day and night, they are totally ruined by their egotism. Within them, is the total pitch darkness of greed, and no one even approaches them. They themselves are miserable, and they never find peace; they are born, only to die, and die again. O Nanak, the True Lord God forgives those, who focus their consciousness on the Guru’s feet. || 2 || PAUREE: That Saint, that devotee, is acceptable, who is loved by God. Those beings are wise, who meditate on the Lord. They eat the food, the treasure of the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord. They apply the dust of the feet of the Saints to their foreheads. O Nanak, they are purified, bathing in the sacred shrine of the Lord. || 26 ||

ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਭੇਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ; ਭੇਖੀ ਸਾਧੂ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਘਰ ਘਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਭੀ ਵਧੀਕ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਭੁਗਤਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭੇਖੀ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ, ਜਿਸ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮਿਲੇ, ਲੈ ਕੇ ਖਾ ਲਏ (ਭਾਵ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ); ਪਰ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਹਠ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਭਿੱਖਿਆ ਮੰਗਿਆਂ ਦੋਹੀ ਧਿਰੀਂ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਭਿੱਖਿਆ ਲਈਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਭੇਖ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਸਥ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਥੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ ਸੂਝ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ; ਪਰ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਚੰਗੇ ਰਾਹ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਮੰਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ, ਕੁਝ ਆਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਉਣੀ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹੀ ਚੰਗੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਥਾਂਇ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ)।੧। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਸਦਾ ਸੁੱਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਗਿਆਨ-ਰੂਪ ਤੀਰਥ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤੀਰਥ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਤੀਰਥ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਤੇ ਹੀ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਤਸੰਗ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ, ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਰੂਪ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਰੂਪ ਆਹਰ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ, ਪਖੰਡ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦਾ, ਪਖੰਡ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਮੌਤ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਸਹਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਬੈਠੋ, ਜਿਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਨਾਮ-ਤੱਤ ਖੁੱਸ ਨਾਹ ਜਾਏ। ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ, ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪ ਢੋਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਪੜੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਉਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਧੁਰੋਂ ਭਲੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਰੇ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਓ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।

English Translation:

SHALOK, THIRD MEHL:

Meeting the True Guru, hunger departs; hunger does not depart by wearing the robes of a beggar. Afflicted with pain, he wanders from house to house, and in the world hereafter, he receives double punishment. Intuitive peace does not come to his inner being — he is not content to eat what comes his way. With his stubborn mind, he begs, and grabs, and annoys those who give. Instead of wearing these beggar’s robes, it is better to be a householder, and give to others. Those who are attuned to the Word of the Shabad, acquire understanding; the others wander, deluded by doubt. They act according to their past actions; it is useless to talk to them. O Nanak, those who are pleasing to God are good; He upholds their honor.  || 1 ||   THIRD MEHL:  Serving the True Guru, one finds a lasting peace; the pains of birth and death are removed. He is not troubled by anxiety; the carefree Lord comes to dwell in the mind. Deep within, is the sacred shrine of spiritual wisdom, revealed by the True Guru. Filth is removed, and the mind becomes pure, bathing in the sacred shrine, the pool of Ambrosial Nectar. The friend meets with the True Friend, the Lord, through the love of the Shabad. Within the home of his heart, he finds the Divine Self, and his light blends with the Light. The Messenger of Death does not leave the hypocrite; he is led away in dishonor. O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Naam are saved; they are in love with the True Lord.  || 2 ||   PAUREE:  Go, and sit in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, where the Name of the Lord is churned. In peace and poise, contemplate the Lord’s Name — don’t lose the essence of the Lord. Chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, constantly, day and night, and you shall be accepted in the Court of the Lord. He alone finds the Perfect True Guru, on whose forehead such pre-ordained destiny is written. Let everyone bow in worship to the Guru, who speaks the sermon of the Lord.  || 4 ||

ਸਲੋਕ ॥

ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਣਤਰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਥਾਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ (ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਦੀ) ਵੱਡੀ (ਭਿਆਨਕ) ਅੱਗ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ।੧। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਦੋਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੀ, ਪੈਰ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਨ, ਬੜੇ ਔਖੇ ਥਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸੈਂ ਤਦੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਬਚਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ, ਹੁਣ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ? ।੨। (ਹੇ ਜੀਵ!) (ਮਾਂ ਦੀ) ਰੱਤ ਤੇ (ਪਿਉ ਦੇ) ਵੀਰਜ ਤੋਂ (ਮਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪੇਟ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਉੱਗਿਆ । ਤੇਰਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੀ, ਗੰਦਾ ਤੇ ਡਰਾਉਣਾ ਸੈਂ, (ਮਾਨੋ) ਇਕ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਘੋਰ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੈਂ । ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੈਂ ਸੜਦਾ—ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਹੁਣ ਭੀ) ਮਨੋਂ ਤਨੋਂ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ । ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਔਖੇ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਭੁਲਾ । ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਇਆਂ ਕਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, (ਜੇ ਭੁਲਾਇˆਗਾ ਤਾਂ) ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ (ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ) ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ ।੨।

English Translation:

SHALOK:

Creating the soul, the Lord places this creation in the womb of the mother. With each and every breath, it meditates in remembrance on the Lord, O Nanak; it is not consumed by the great fire. || 1 || With its head down, and feet up, it dwells in that slimy place. O Nanak, how could we forget the Master? Through His Name, we are saved. || 2 || PAUREE: From egg and sperm, you were conceived, and placed in the fire of the womb. Head downwards, you abided restlessly in that dark, dismal, terrible hell. Remembering the Lord in meditation, you were not burnt; enshrine Him in your heart, mind and body. In that treacherous place, He protected and preserved you; do not forget Him, even for an instant. Forgetting God, you shall never find peace; you shall forfeit your life, and depart. || 2 ||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਇਫਤਰਾ ਭਾਈ ਦਿਲ ਕਾ ਫਿਕਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਟੁਕੁ ਦਮੁ ਕਰਾਰੀ ਜਉ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਾਜਿਰ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਖੁਦਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਬੰਦੇ ਖੋਜੁ ਦਿਲ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ ਨਾ ਫਿਰੁ ਪਰੇਸਾਨੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ ਇਹ ਜੁ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਸਿਹਰੁ ਮੇਲਾ ਦਸਤਗੀਰੀ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਦਰੋਗੁ ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਖੁਸੀ ਹੋਇ ਬੇਖਬਰ ਬਾਦੁ ਬਕਾਹਿ ॥ ਹਕੁ ਸਚੁ ਖਾਲਕੁ ਖਲਕ ਮਿਆਨੇ ਸਿਆਮ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਮਿ੍ਹਾਨੇ ਲਹੰਗ ਦਰੀਆ ਗੁਸਲ ਕਰਦਨ ਬੂਦ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਫਕਰੁ ਦਾਇਮ ਲਾਇ ਚਸਮੇ ਜਹ ਤਹਾ ਮਉਜੂਦੁ ॥੩॥ ਅਲਾਹ ਪਾਕੰ ਪਾਕ ਹੈ ਸਕ ਕਰਉ ਜੇ ਦੂਸਰ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਕਬੀਰ ਕਰਮੁ ਕਰੀਮ ਕਾ ਉਹੁ ਕਰੈ ਜਾਨੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਤਿਲੰਗ ਬਾਣੀ ਭਗਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਵਾਦ-ਵਿਵਾਦ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਵੇਦਾਂ ਕਤੇਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਵਧ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਦਿਲ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ । (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਲਕ ਭਰ ਹੀ ਟਿਕਾਓ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਦਿੱਸੇਗਾ (ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਤਰਕ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਏਗੀ) ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ) ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਖੋਜ, (ਬਹਿਸ ਮੁਬਾਹਸੇ ਦੀ) ਘਬਰਾਹਟ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਹ ਭਟਕ । ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਇਕ ਜਾਦੂ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਇਕ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਸ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਵਾਦ-ਵਿਵਾਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਹੱਥ-ਪੱਲੇ ਪੈਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੈ ਨਹੀਂ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਬੇ-ਸਮਝ ਲੋਕ (ਅਨ-ਮਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ) ਪੜ੍ਹ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ (ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ) ਝੂਠ (ਹੈ), ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬਹਿਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ । (ਪਰ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਕਿ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਰੱਬ ਖ਼ਲਕਤ ਵਿਚ (ਭੀ) ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਨਾਹ ਉਹ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਤੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ) ਨਾਹ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਹੈ ।੨। (ਸਤਵੇਂ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਰੂਪ ਦਰਿਆ ਤੇ ਅੰਤਹਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ । ਸੋ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰ, (ਇਹ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ) ਐਨਕ ਲਾ (ਕੇ ਵੇਖ), ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ।੩। ਰੱਬ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ (ਹਸਤੀ) ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ), ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਕਰਾਂ, ਜੇ ਉਸ ਰੱਬ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਹੋਵੇ । ਹੇ ਕਬੀਰ! (ਇਸ ਭੇਤ ਨੂੰ) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਮਝਣ-ਜੋਗ ਬਣਾਏ । ਤੇ, ਇਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਉਸ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਹੈ ।੪।੧।

English Translation:

TILANG, THE WORD OF DEVOTEE KABEER JEE:

ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:

The Vedas and the Scriptures are only make-believe, O Siblings of Destiny; they do not relieve the anxiety of the heart. If you will only center yourself on the Lord, even for just a breath, then you shall see the Lord face-to-face, present before you. || 1 || O human being, search your own heart every day, and do not wander around in confusion. This world is just a magic-show; no one will be holding your hand. || 1 || Pause || Reading and studying falsehood, people are happy; in their ignorance, they speak nonsense. The True Creator Lord is diffused into His creation; He is not just the dark-skinned Krishna of legends. || 2 || Through the Tenth Gate, the stream of nectar flows; take your bath in this. Serve the Lord forever; use your eyes, and see Him ever-present everywhere. || 3 || The Lord is the purest of the pure; only through doubt could there be another. O Kabeer, mercy flows from the Merciful Lord; He alone knows who acts. || 4 || 1 ||
