ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਰਬ ਕੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ
ਬਿਨਉ ਕਰਉ ਕਰ ਜੋਰਿ ॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਤੁਮਰੋ
ਉਧਰਸਿ ਆਖੀ ਫੋਰ ॥੨॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈ। ਹੱਥ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੇਰਾ ਗੋਲਾ, ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਫੋਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਮਿਟੀ ਧੁੰਧ ਜਗ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋਆ॥
ਜਿਉਂ ਕਰ ਸੂਰਜ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਤਾਰੇ ਛਪੇ ਅੰਧੇਰ ਪਲੋਆ॥
With the emergence of the true Guru Nanak, the mist cleared and the light scattered all around. As if at the sun rise the stars disappeared and the darkness dispelled.
ਉਹਨੀਂ ਤਾਕਤ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਸੱਚੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਸਉ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਸੁਖ ਕਿ ਪੁਛਹਿ ਮਿਤ ॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਉ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਉ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ॥
If you make friends with the self-willed manmukhs, O friend, who can you ask for peace?Make friends with the Gurmukhs, and focus your consciousness on the True Guru.
ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕੂਲ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਰੀ ਲਾ ਕੇ, ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਤੂੰ ਤਦ ਆਰਾਮ ਲਈ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਛਦਾ ਹੈ? ਤੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਰੀ ਪਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜ।
ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥
ਡੰਡਉਤਿ ਬੰਦਨ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਸਮਰਥ ॥
ਡੋਲਨ ਤੇ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਕਰਿ ਹਥ ॥੧॥
I bow down, and fall to the ground in humble adoration, countless times, to the All-powerful Lord, who possesses all powers.Please protect me, and save me from wandering, God. Reach out and give Nanak Your Hand.
ਮੈਂ ਲੰਮੇ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਨਮਸ਼ਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਾਰੀ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾ ਵਾਲੇ, ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੁਹਰੇ, ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੇ ਡਿਕੋਡੋਲੇ ਖਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗਉੜੀ ਬੈਰਾਗਣਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥
ਰੈਣਿ ਗਵਾਈ ਸੋਇ ਕੈ ਦਿਵਸੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਖਾਇ ॥
ਹੀਰੇ ਜੈਸਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਹੈ ਕਉਡੀ ਬਦਲੇ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
The nights are wasted sleeping, and the days are wasted eating. Human life is such a precious jewel, but it is being lost in exchange for a mere shell.
ਮਨੁਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਕੌਡੀ ਦੇ ਵਟਾਦਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲਿਆਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਇਨਸਾਨ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰਾਤਾਂ ਸੋ ਕੇ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੇਤਾ ਸਮੁੰਦੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਨੀਰਿ ਭਰਿਆ ਤੇਤੇ ਅਉਗਣ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਮਿਹਰ ਉਪਾਵਹੁ ਡੁਬਦੇ ਪਥਰ ਤਾਰੇ ॥੫॥
As the seas and the oceans are overflowing with water, so vast are my own sins. Please, shower me with Your Mercy, and take pity upon me. I am a sinking stone – please carry me across! ||5||
ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਐਨੇ ਅਮਾਪ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨਾ ਕੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੰਧ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਰੀ-ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਤਰਸ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਕੁ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਗਰਕ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ, ਪਾਹਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦੇ।
ਅਵਲਿ ਅਲਹ ਨੂਰੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਬੰਦੇ।।
ਏਕ ਨੂਰ ਤੇ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਕਉਨ ਭਲੇ ਕੋ ਮੰਦੇ।।
First, Allah created the Light; then, by His Creative Power, He made all mortal beings. From the One Light, the entire universe welled up. So who is good, and who is bad?
